Anthony Joshua is a 26-year old British professional boxer who was born in Watford, Hertfordshire, to his Nigerian parents, Yeta, and Robert Joshua. Joshua is of Irish ancestry from his fathers side (specifically Yoruba) while his mother is of full Nigeria descent.
Meanwhile, he grew up in a boarding school in Hertfordshire, England. However, following the divorce of his parents, he came back to UK to join Kings Langley Secondary School, where he grew up all by himself. The professional boxer made his debut together with cousin, Ben Lleyemi, in 2013.

He was a bricklayer before taking up boxing full-time. He excelled at football and athletics and broke the Year Nine 100m record with a time of 11.6 seconds.

His club, Finchley ABC in Barnet, North London, is also home to professional heavyweight Dereck Chisora. Joshua won the 2009 and 2010 Haringey Box Cup. Joshua won the senior ABA Championships in 2010.
